Dan and Ally met through the Christian Mingle Dating App. Ally was teaching at an elementary school; Dan was working in Pittsburgh, which was about an hour away from Ally. They got to see each other on weekends. After just a few months, they both knew that they were each other’s lifelong person. After dating for about 9 months, Dan used Diet Coke bottles to spell out “Ally, will you marry me?” She said yes of course.

Nine months later, they were married on one of the hottest days in July 2019. One of their good friends, Scott, officiated their wedding. After we got married, Ally started a new job in a new town. In their first year of marriage, COVID happened and the world shut down. They also moved to North Carolina for a few years at that point. They learned early on how to be content with each other and a good TV show or game night.

Together they love to go on road trips, gather with their friends and family, go to Disney World, explore new places (restaurants, parks, book stores, coffee shops), and challenge themselves with something new each year. At the same time they also appreciate little things like rainy days wrapped up with a blanket and a book, coffee dates, taking their dogs for walks, going to the movies, game nights, and truly treating each other with love, patience, and kindness.

Dan and Ally love to be involved in the community - supporting music, sports, and other activities that are in our town. They enjoy watching college football and college basketball, and also enjoy going to concerts!

They pour themselves into the lives of countless others in the community, and they are so ready to give their unconditional love to a child and expand their family through the miracle of adoption!

Dan grew up in a close knit community near Pittsburgh. He has three brothers and his parents have been married for 42 years. He is now an uncle to a nephew and 3 nieces. Dan’s parents have always taught the importance of family and faith. Dan loves to play with his dogs outside and explore local restaurants and coffee shops, go bowling, and play board games. Soccer is a big part of his family. His favorite foods include Mexican food, burgers, and snickerdoodle cookies. He graduated high school in 2007 and went on to college to study marketing. He has been with his current company for 8 years and is a software engineer.

Ally grew up in a small town about an hour north of Pittsburgh. She has two brothers. Her parents have been married for 41 years. She is now an aunt to a nephew and 3 nieces. Family has always been very important to her. Her favorite time of year is Fall. She loves being outdoors with Dan and her dogs and likes to stay active, but also loves to cuddle up inside with a blanket, a book, and a Diet Coke or coffee. Her favorite foods include Mexican food, pizza, and bagels. She graduated high school in 2005 and went on to college - graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. She has been an elementary teacher for 13 years.

Dan’s family is welcoming and loving. Every year they gather together for a family reunion in August. He has six Aunts and Uncles and 10 cousins. His family is originally from Ohio / Pittsburgh. His family enjoys playing board games and going on family vacations with lots of time spent outside - walking dogs, hiking, and reading books. Dan’s immediate family is all within an hour of them, and they spend a lot of time with them.

Ally’s extended family is spread out all over the country. Her immediate family gets together often, and she sees her extended family at various weddings and events. She has 6 Aunts and Uncles and ten cousins. Her family is originally from Pennsylvania. Ally’s immediate family is mostly in the area within a few miles. Her family enjoys watching college basketball, going to the beach, and dining out for food and fellowship.

Dan and Ally’s home is comfortable, cozy, and is welcoming to others. It is a ranch style home with 3 bedrooms, an office, and two living rooms! They have a mostly fenced in backyard that their dogs love to run around inside of. Their neighborhood has a nice balance of families with children and retired couples. Their home is on a road that doesn’t have a lot of traffic going through it, so it’s nice and quiet. It is filled with love, laughter, and joy.

While we do not have children, we have two dogs - Sulley and Coco. They are both named after Disney Pixar characters. Sulley is a sheepadoodle, and Coco is a mini goldendoodle. Sulley is our playful pup. He always likes us to throw a ball or toy for him to catch, whether we are inside or out in the backyard. Coco is our cuddle pup. She loves cuddling up with us on a blanket while we watch our favorite TV shows. She also is obsessed with being outside, especially in the fall when she gets to chase blowing leaves.

We love taking both of our pups on adventures, whether walking around the neighborhood, playing in the backyard, going to our families' houses, or going on trips. Sulley and Coco get along extremely well, and they love to watch people at one of our front windows together. They are great around kids of all ages, and they would make great playmates for a child to grow up with. They are very important to us, and we love them a lot!
